Our fundamental belief at CLIS is that every child is capable of learning and that children must be built as whole persons in order to be equipped with the knowledge, character, and skills needed to become significant contributors to society. We have a low student/teacher ratio to promote student/teacher learning relationship, build on areas of strength and to easily identify and remediate students learning needs. Our rigorous academic program challenges and stretches each student.
Our Creative Curriculum balances both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, with an emphasis on responding to children’s learning styles and building on their strengths and interests. This curricula applies the latest theory and research on best practices in teaching and learning and the content standards developed by states and professional organizations. While keeping the original environmentally-based approach it clearly defines the teacher’s vital role in connecting kids to content, teaching, and learning for preschool children.
